Cosmogony and Ikshvaku Genealogy as Counsel to Rama
तांस्तु सर्वान्प्रतिव्यूह्य युद्धे राजा प्रवासितः।स च शैलवरे रम्ये बभूवाभिरतो मुनिः।।।।
tāṃs tu sarvān prativyūhya yuddhe rājā pravāsitaḥ |
sa ca śailavare ramye babhūvābhirato muniḥ ||
Der König stellte sich ihnen allen im Kampf; dennoch wurde er ins Exil getrieben. Da verweilte er in einem lieblichen Bergland, zufrieden und gesammelt, wie ein Muni, ein Weiser.
Although king Asita engaged all of them in a battle, he was (defeated and) driven into exile. He retired to a delightful, tall mountain and lived a life of contentment of a sage.
Dharma includes resilience: when worldly power is lost, one may still uphold inner discipline and live with contentment rather than bitterness.
Asita is defeated and exiled; he withdraws to a mountain and adopts a sage-like, restrained life.
Stoic composure and self-control—turning misfortune into a life of restraint and contemplation.
