Hearing of Daśaratha’s death and the libation rites at Mandākinī
स तत्र कांश्चित्परिषस्वजे नरान्नरास्तु केचित्तु तमभ्यवादयन्।चकार सर्वान्सवयस्यबान्धवान्यथार्ह मासाद्य तदा नृपात्मजः।।।।
sa tatra kāṃścit pariṣasvaje narān narās tu kecit tu tam abhyavādayan |
cakāra sarvān sa-vayasya-bāndhavān yathārham āsādya tadā nṛpātmajaḥ ||
Dort umarmte er einige Männer, während andere ihn ehrerbietig grüßten; und der Königssohn begrüßte und ehrte daraufhin alle—Freunde und Verwandte seines Alters—wie es einem jeden gebührte.
Rama embraced some, while others paid him obeisance. Therafter, he honoured his erstwhile companions and relations in accordance with their status.
