Some rode horses, some, elephants, while others mounted well-decorated chariots, while the young went on foot.
Dharma appears as coordinated social functioning: different ranks and capacities move together for a shared righteous purpose—reaching Rama and the royal family.
The crowd hastens toward the hermitage using whatever means are available, showing the scale of the moment.
Zeal and commitment: even those unaccustomed to hardship go on foot to participate.
