Maricha’s Counsel to Ravana
On Rama’s Dharma and the Peril of Abduction
Rama is dharma incarnate. He is pious. His strength is truth. He is king of all the worlds like Indra to the gods.
Dharma and satya are presented as the true source of authority and strength; righteous rule is legitimized by truth-based valor.
Mārīca praises and defines Rāma’s nature to dissuade Rāvaṇa from provoking him.
Satyaparākrama—courage powered by truth—and the ideal of dharmic kingship (rājadharma).
