Sarga 29: Rama’s Admonition to Khara and the Shattering of the Mace
You have killed these fourteen thousand demons. Therefore, I will wipe their tears by destroying you.
The verse serves as a negative example: dharma discourages intimidation and ego-driven violence; power without righteousness becomes mere threat.
Khara escalates his challenge, claiming he alone can kill Rāma, likening himself to Yama.
Rāma’s fearlessness is implicitly tested; steadfastness in dharma is shown by not being shaken by boasts.
