Khara’s Wrath and Śūrpaṇakhā’s Report
इति भ्रातुर्वचश्श्रुत्वा क्रुद्धस्य च विशेषतः।ततश्शूर्पणखा वाक्यं सबाष्पमिदमब्रवीत्।।।।
iti bhrātur vacaḥ śrutvā kruddhasya ca viśeṣataḥ | tataḥ śūrpaṇakhā vākyam sabāṣpam idam abravīt ||
Als Śūrpaṇakhā die Worte ihres Bruders vernahm—zumal da er vor Zorn entbrannt war—sprach sie darauf, und ihre Rede war von Tränen begleitet.
On hearing her angry brother, Surpanakha replied with words choked with tears:
It highlights how anger and grief shape speech; dharma encourages restraint and truthful speech even under emotional pressure.
