Concept: Realms reflect inner states—well-being, mind’s tendencies, and the heat of tapas; spiritual progress involves moving from mind-driven wandering to disciplined austerity and auspicious welfare.

Application: Notice your ‘inner countries’: cultivate kuśalatā (wholesome habits), watch manonuga impulses (mind-following), and channel uṣṇatā (heat/drive) into steady sādhana rather than agitation.

FAQs

It lists successive named regions (deśas) in a cosmographical sequence—Kuśala (of Krauñca), Manonuga (of Vāmana), and beyond them Uṣṇa—typical of Purāṇic mapping of worlds and lands.

The name may evoke the avatāra, but this verse functions as a geographical/cosmographical label (“Vāmana’s region”); without additional surrounding verses, the identification cannot be asserted with certainty.

Direct ethical instruction is not explicit here; the verse primarily serves a descriptive purpose—organizing sacred/cosmic space—supporting the Purāṇic aim of orienting the listener within a meaningful, ordered universe.
