Prohibitions and Rules of Right Conduct (Ācāra): Theft, Speech, Purity, Residence, and Social Boundaries

दृष्टं वै शोधनं वृद्धैर्नास्ति मिथ्याभिशंसने । नेक्षेतोद्यंतमादित्यं शशिनं वाऽनिमित्ततः

dṛṣṭaṃ vai śodhanaṃ vṛddhairnāsti mithyābhiśaṃsane | nekṣetodyaṃtamādityaṃ śaśinaṃ vā'nimittataḥ

Die Alten lehren: Läuterung liegt im wahrhaftigen Eingeständnis dessen, was gesehen wurde; in falscher Anklage ist keine Reinigung. Man soll nicht ohne rechten Grund in die aufgehende Sonne starren, noch in den Mond.
