FAQs

It links geography to lineage: a region (Ānarta-deśa) and its city (Kuśasthalī) are explained as arising from the fame or rule of a dynastic figure, Rocamāna.

Sṛṣṭikhaṇḍa often mixes creation-era narration with dynasties and the origins of peoples and places; this verse is a compact example of genealogical-to-geographical mapping.

It reflects the Purāṇic ideal that rightful power and valor (pratāpa) establish order and identity—so strongly that lands and cities become associated with exemplary rulers.
