The Hymn to Gaṇapati

and the Rule of Worshipping Gaṇeśa First

FAQs

It states that, due to a specific reason given in the surrounding context, the deity/person being discussed receives worship first in sacrificial rites.

It says that both Vedas and ritual/legal Śāstras place this priority at the very beginning of worship procedures, indicating normative scriptural backing.

The verse supports beginning worship in the traditionally sanctioned order—starting with the foremost/first-invoked worship—because this order is presented as consistently taught in established ritual rules.
