Go-Māhātmya

विशिष्टं सर्वद्रव्येषु गव्यमिष्टं परं शुभम् । यस्यास्ये भोजनं नास्ति तस्य मूर्तिस्तु पूतिका

viśiṣṭaṃ sarvadravyeṣu gavyamiṣṭaṃ paraṃ śubham | yasyāsye bhojanaṃ nāsti tasya mūrtistu pūtikā

Unter allen Substanzen gilt das, was von der Kuh stammt, als das Vorzüglichste, das Begehrteste und höchst Glückverheißende. Wer aber keinen Bissen im Mund hat, dessen Gestalt ist nur Gestank.
