The Aśūnyaśayanā Vow (Unempty Bed) and the Aṅgāraka Caturthī Observance

पश्यतोपि भवेद्रूपमैश्वर्यं किमु कुर्वतः । यस्माच्च भक्त्या धरणीसुतस्य विनिंद्यमानेन गवादिदानम्

paśyatopi bhavedrūpamaiśvaryaṃ kimu kurvataḥ | yasmācca bhaktyā dharaṇīsutasya viniṃdyamānena gavādidānam

Schon durch bloßes Schauen entstehen Schönheit und Wohlstand—wie viel mehr bei dem, der dient! Denn in der Hingabe an den Sohn der Erde wird selbst das Spenden von Kühen und dergleichen, wenn es verächtlich geschieht, tadelnswert.
