The Greatness of Puṣkara: Tripuṣkara Pilgrimage, Sacred Geography, and the Doctrine of Self-Restraint

FAQs

Tvaṣṭṛ is the divine artisan (Viśvakarman-like figure in Vedic-Purāṇic tradition). The Devas approach him to secure help—here framed as assistance toward victory—because he is capable of crafting divine means or arrangements that support their purpose.

The verse suggests that even divine aims are fulfilled through disciplined attention and sincere effort (prayatna). Success is linked not only to intention (jayāya) but to careful, conscientious action.

Sṛṣṭikhaṇḍa often presents cosmic administration—how gods, powers, and specialized deities cooperate to maintain order. This verse highlights the functional roles within creation: the Devas as administrators and Tvaṣṭṛ as the skilled executor who enables their aims.
