FAQs

Śatakratu is an epithet of Indra, the king of the gods, famed for performing many sacrifices (kratus).

The vajra (thunderbolt) is Indra’s divine weapon, presented as the decisive means by which Vṛtra will be defeated.

After stating the outcome (Vṛtra’s slaying), the speaker concludes that the matter has been explained and urges that the required actions or rites be carried out properly (“let everything be duly done”).
