FAQs

“Viṣṇupatnī” means the consort of Viṣṇu, commonly identified as Śrī/Lakṣmī; the verse also describes her as born through Bhṛgu and Khyāti in a genealogical framing.

It signals a significant ritual or cosmic moment—Sāvitrī’s movement prompts an assembly of divine women—while also inserting Purāṇic lineage markers (Bhṛgu–Khyāti) to situate prominent deities within creation-era genealogies.

By foregrounding Viṣṇu’s consort among the divine assembly and naming her illustrious origin, the verse reinforces Vaiṣṇava sacrality within a creation-and-lineage context typical of the Sṛṣṭikhaṇḍa.
