Transliteration

kva gacchāmi kva tiṣṭhāmi kārttikavratino bhayāt | paurṇamāsyāṃ yathāśakti cānnavastrādikaṃ dvija

Translation

„Wohin soll ich gehen, wo soll ich bleiben, aus Furcht vor denen, die das Kārttika-Gelübde beobachten?“ Am Vollmondtag, o Brāhmaṇa, soll man nach Kräften Speise, Kleidung und dergleichen spenden.
