FAQs

It recommends offering praṇāma (respectful obeisance) to a brāhmaṇa with devotion and with a Hari-centered understanding (haribuddhi).

It links the outward act of respect (praṇāma) to inner devotion (bhaktyā) and a devotional orientation toward Hari, making reverence an expression of bhakti rather than mere social formality.

The verse teaches humility and reverence toward learned and virtuous persons (vipras), presenting such respect—grounded in devotion—as a cause for the growth of prosperity and related blessings.
