Sandhi Resolution Notes: kāmacārastathaiva = kāmacāraḥ + tathā + eva (विसर्ग-लोपः; तथा+एव → तथैव); garvamudvahase = garvam + udvahase (म् + उ → मु).
It warns that extraordinary powers or freedoms can produce delusion and arrogance; pride is portrayed as baseless when it makes one fail to recognize a higher authority or benefactor.
Vaśyatva indicates the capacity to bring others under one’s influence, while kāmacāra suggests liberty to act according to one’s desire—both presented as attainments that can inflate ego.
It emphasizes humility: achievements should not lead to contempt, forgetfulness of one’s source, or self-importance; otherwise, the pride one carries is ‘vṛthā’—in vain.
