A
Aditi

FAQs

Aditi is a revered divine mother-figure (often associated with the Ādityas) and is portrayed here as a virtuous woman strengthened by tapas (austerity).

It announces that Aditi’s pregnancy has reached full term and that the time for childbirth has begun, emphasizing completion (susaṁpūrṇa) and the natural onset of sūtikāla.

The verse subtly links spiritual discipline (tapas) with auspicious outcomes, presenting austerity and virtue as supportive conditions surrounding sacred life-events.
