Concept: Bhagavān is the ultimate gati for devas and even great-souled dānavas; for Krishna’s devotees He is the assured refuge and goal.

Application: Reframe life-goals: let decisions be measured by whether they move one toward the ‘gati’ of devotion—service, humility, and remembrance—rather than status or rivalry.

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A vast cosmic vista opens: devas with radiant crowns and great-souled dānavas with softened expressions both move along a luminous path toward Krishna’s lotus feet. At the center, Krishna stands as a tranquil axis of the universe, his aura drawing all beings into a single, peaceful destination.","primary_figures":["Krishna (as supreme gati)","devas (vṛndārakas)","mahātmā dānavas","devotees of Krishna"],"setting":"Celestial pathway over a starry ocean of clouds, with lotus constellations and a distant Vaikuntha-like horizon","lighting_mood":"divine radiance","color_palette":["midnight blue","starlight silver","lotus white","peacock green","radiant gold"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Krishna as the cosmic center with gold leaf aura, lotus feet emphasized with jeweled anklets, devas and noble dānavas approaching in orderly rows, ornate gold borders and arch, rich reds/greens for garments, gem-studded ornaments, layered halos and stylized celestial lotuses.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: lyrical celestial landscape with soft clouds and distant peaks, Krishna standing gracefully with refined features, devas and dānavas rendered with gentle expressions, delicate brushwork and cool blues, subtle gold highlights, a winding luminous path leading to the lotus feet.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: Krishna with bold outlines and large eyes, concentric aura rings, stylized devas and dānavas in symmetrical procession, strong primary pigments (red/yellow/green/blue), decorative cloud bands and lotus motifs filling the background like a temple wall panel.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: Krishna centered amid a field of lotuses, ornate floral borders, peacocks and cows at the margins, devas and transformed dānavas as patterned attendants, deep blue ground with gold and white lotus detailing, intricate textile-like symmetry emphasizing ‘gati’ toward the center."}

Audio Atmosphere: {"recitation_mood":"meditative","suggested_raga":"Bhupali","pace":"slow-meditative","voice_tone":"serene","sound_elements":["tanpura drone","soft flute","distant conch","gentle wind"]}

Sandhi Resolution Notes: tamasmi = तम् + अस्मि; गतिकृष्णभक्तानाम् is syntactically 'gatiḥ ... bhaktānām'.

FAQs

It presents Kṛṣṇa as the final gati (goal/refuge) and frames devotion as śaraṇāgati—personally taking shelter in Him as the decisive spiritual act.

The pairing underscores Kṛṣṇa’s supremacy beyond factions: even beings seen as cosmic rivals ultimately share the same highest destination in Him.

The verse teaches humility and surrender: regardless of one’s status or nature, the safest and highest course is to seek refuge in the Divine, especially through Kṛṣṇa-bhakti.
