Narrative of Sumanā: The Quest for a Worthy Son and the Karmic Roots of Poverty

विपुलं च धनं तद्वल्लोभेन परिसंचितम् । तस्य व्ययं सुपुण्येन न कृतं तु त्वया कदा

vipulaṃ ca dhanaṃ tadvallobhena parisaṃcitam | tasya vyayaṃ supuṇyena na kṛtaṃ tu tvayā kadā

Und jenes reiche Vermögen hast du aus bloßer Gier zusammengehäuft; doch niemals, zu keiner Zeit, hast du es für wahrhaft verdienstvolle, heilige Taten (puṇya) verwendet.
