Nārada

Concept: Dreams have natural causes (doṣa-based); understanding causality reduces fear and supports right action.

Application: Treat disturbing dreams with grounded discernment: regulate diet/sleep, reduce agitation, and add spiritual practices (nāma-japa, prayer) rather than panic.

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"Nārada, luminous and calm, explains the fourfold doṣa-born dreams to an auspicious lady seated respectfully. Behind them, subtle symbolic currents—wind (vāta), flame (pitta), water-mist (kapha), and a braided tri-color stream (sannipāta)—float like teaching diagrams in the air.","primary_figures":["Nārada","an auspicious lady (bhadre)","symbolic doṣa elements (wind, fire, water, tri-doṣa braid)"],"setting":"Hermitage teaching grove with a vina resting nearby, medicinal herbs at the base of a tree, and a small Vishnu shrine in the distance.","lighting_mood":"golden dawn","color_palette":["sunrise gold","herb green","vermillion","sky blue","pearl white"],"tanjore_prompt":"Tanjore painting style: Nārada with vina and gold leaf halo instructing a seated lady, four elemental emblems hovering (wind swirl, flame, water droplet, tri-colored knot), rich reds/greens, ornate border with floral motifs and subtle chakra patterns.","pahari_prompt":"Pahari miniature style: gentle dawn in a grove, Nārada in saffron with delicate shading, the lady in modest attire, translucent elemental symbols painted like wisps, refined linework and soft gradients.","kerala_mural_prompt":"Kerala mural style: Nārada with bold outlines and stylized ornaments, elemental icons rendered as clear motifs, warm yellow-red background, temple mural composition with balanced symmetry.","pichwai_prompt":"Pichwai cloth painting style: Nārada teaching scene framed by intricate floral borders, lotus clusters and peacocks, elemental motifs integrated into the textile pattern, deep blue ground with gold highlights and saffron accents."}

FAQs

Four types: dreams arising from vāta, from pitta, from kapha, and from sannipāta (a combined disturbance of all doṣas).

The verse uses an Āyurvedic doṣa framework, attributing dream-experiences to bodily humors (vāta, pitta, kapha) and their combined imbalance (sannipāta).

It encourages discernment: not every dream is a supernatural omen—some are physiological/temperamental effects linked to doṣic conditions.
