Pūjādi-kathana — Gaṅgā Vratas, Tenfold Worship, Stotra, and Mokṣa on the Riverbank

न तत्र प्रतिगृह्णीयात्प्राणैः कंठगतैरपि । भाद्रशुक्लचतुर्दश्यां यावदाक्रमते जलम् ॥ ११७ ॥

na tatra pratigṛhṇīyātprāṇaiḥ kaṃṭhagatairapi | bhādraśuklacaturdaśyāṃ yāvadākramate jalam || 117 ||

Dort soll man, selbst wenn der Lebenshauch bis zur Kehle gestiegen ist (selbst im Sterben), keinerlei Gabe oder Speise annehmen; wenigstens so lange, bis am vierzehnten Tag der hellen Monatshälfte von Bhādrapada das Wasser vorrückt und den Ort bedeckt.
