Matsya Purana — Navagraha Sacrifice for Planetary Pacification and Prosperity
This verse does not address pralaya; it focuses on yajña procedure—purificatory bathing, auspicious benedictions, and the proper giving of dakṣiṇā.
It outlines yajamāna-dharma: the patron (including a king or householder) must maintain ritual purity (snāna), ensure auspicious invocations (svasti-vācana), and ethically remunerate officiants through properly apportioned dakṣiṇās.
The significance is ritual: it prescribes the sequence and obligations in a rite—post/preceding purification, formal benedictions, and the structured distribution of dakṣiṇā to priests/officiants.
