ततो यवीयसः पत्नीं गौतमस्याभ्यपद्यत कृतावलेपां तां मत्वा सो ऽनड्वानिव न क्षमः //

tato yavīyasaḥ patnīṃ gautamasyābhyapadyata kṛtāvalepāṃ tāṃ matvā so 'naḍvāniva na kṣamaḥ //

Daraufhin näherte er sich der Gattin des jüngeren Gautama. Da er sie für stolz und eigenwillig hielt, wurde er unerträglich—wie ein unangespannter Stier—außerstande, sich zu zügeln.
