Adhyaya 86 — Dhumralocana’s Mission and His Ashing by the Goddess; Shumbha Sends Chanda and Munda
Calling the Goddess ‘wicked’ reveals projection: adharma labels its moral opposite as evil. The text warns that distorted perception leads to self-destructive action.
Manvantara-framed episode; functions as instructive sacred history rather than creation or dynastic catalog.
The ‘lion felled’ motif points to the ego’s attempt to first kill courage and sovereignty (siṃha) before capturing śakti—yet true śakti cannot be possessed once inner sovereignty awakens.
