Adhyaya 8Harishchandra’s Trial: Truth, the Sale of Family, and Bondage to a Chandala

इत्युक्त्वा सापि सुश्रोणी मूर्च्छिता निपपात ह ।

भर्तृदुःखमहाभारेणासह्येन निपीडिता ॥

ity uktvā sāpi suśroṇī mūrcchitā nipapāta ha |

bhartṛ-duḥkha-mahā-bhāreṇāsahyena nipīḍitā ||

Nachdem sie so gesprochen hatte, sank auch jene Frau mit schönen Hüften, vom Kummer überwältigt, in Ohnmacht und stürzte zu Boden—zermalmt von der unerträglich schweren Last der Trauer um ihren Gemahl.
