वामोरुमाश्रितां चास्य ददर्शायतलोचनाम् ।

पत्नीं मदनिकाṃ नाम पुंस्कोकिलकलस्वनाम् ॥

Transliteration

vāmorumāśritāṃ cāsya dadarśāyatalocanām |

patnīṃ madanikāṃ nāma puṃskokila-kalasvanām ||

Translation

Und er sah seine Gemahlin namens Madanikā — die Weitblickende, die sich an seinen linken Schenkel lehnte, deren Stimme süß war wie der Ruf des männlichen Kuckucks.
