Adhyaya 11 — The Son’s Discourse on Embryogenesis, Birth, and the Wheel of Saṃsāra
क्रामन्ति भुक्तपीतानि स्त्रीणां गर्भोदरे यथा ।
तैराप्यायितदेहोऽसौ जन्तुर्वृद्धिमुपैति वै ॥
krāmanti bhuktapītāni strīṇāṃ garbhodare yathā / tairāpyāyitadeho 'sau janturvṛddhimupaiti vai

The embodied being’s earliest growth depends on others’ conduct (here, the mother’s intake). This supports dharmic attentiveness: one’s actions inevitably affect dependent lives.
Not pañcalakṣaṇa; it is practical-didactic content embedded in the Purāṇa’s broader teaching aims.
Food/drink stands for ‘inputs’ (viṣaya) that shape the inner being. As the fetus is formed by what comes through the conduit, so the mind is formed by what it habitually ‘consumes’.
