वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores the dharmic value of dāna—generous giving—especially in royal and communal settings, where honoring others through worthy gifts is treated as a marker of virtue, prosperity, and social responsibility.
A grand occasion is being described: abundant gifts—cows, jewels, clothing, ornaments, vehicles, and beds—are presented, conveying the scale of celebration and the public display of wealth and honor.
