पात्र गृहीत्वा सौवर्ण जलपूर्णमनिन्दिता । तच्छोणितं प्रत्यगृह्नाद् यत् प्रसुस्राव नस्ततः,पासेका आघात जोरसे लगा था, अतः: उनकी नाकसे रक्तकी धारा बह चली। किंतु धर्मात्मा युधिष्ठिरने उस रक्तको पृथ्वीपर गिरनेसे पहले ही अपने दोनों हाथोंमें रोक लिया और पास ही खड़ी हुई द्रौपदीकी ओर देखा। द्रौपदी अपने स्वामीके मनके अधीन रहनेवाली और उनकी अनुगामिनी थी। उस सती-साध्वी देवीने उनका अभिप्राय समझ लिया; अत: जलसे भरा हुआ सुवर्णमय पात्र ले आकर युधिष्ठिरकी नाकसे जो रक्त बहता था, वह सब उसमें ले लिया
