अवैक्षत स धर्मात्मा द्रौपदी पार्श्वत: स्थिताम् । सा ज्ञात्वा तमभिप्रायं भर्तृशच्चित्तवतशानुगा,पासेका आघात जोरसे लगा था, अतः: उनकी नाकसे रक्तकी धारा बह चली। किंतु धर्मात्मा युधिष्ठिरने उस रक्तको पृथ्वीपर गिरनेसे पहले ही अपने दोनों हाथोंमें रोक लिया और पास ही खड़ी हुई द्रौपदीकी ओर देखा। द्रौपदी अपने स्वामीके मनके अधीन रहनेवाली और उनकी अनुगामिनी थी। उस सती-साध्वी देवीने उनका अभिप्राय समझ लिया; अत: जलसे भरा हुआ सुवर्णमय पात्र ले आकर युधिष्ठिरकी नाकसे जो रक्त बहता था, वह सब उसमें ले लिया
avaikṣata sa dharmātmā draupadīṃ pārśvataḥ sthitām | sā jñātvā tam abhiprāyaṃ bhartṛśaś-cittavaśānugā |
Vaiśampāyana sprach: Der dharmische Yudhiṣṭhira blickte zu Draupadī, die an seiner Seite stand. Sie, die stets nach dem Sinn ihres Gemahls handelte und ihm ergeben folgte, verstand sein Anliegen ohne Worte.
