पाण्डवपरिचयः—विराटसभायां प्रकाशनम्
Identification of the Pāṇḍavas in Virāṭa’s Court
रश्मीन् समुत्सृूज्य ततो महात्मा रथादवप्लुत्य विराटपुत्र: । वस्त्राण्युपादाय महारथानां तूर्ण पुनः स्वं रथमारुरोह
raśmīn samutsṛjya tato mahātmā rathād avaplutya virāṭa-putraḥ | vastrāṇy upādāya mahā-rathānāṃ tūrṇaṃ punaḥ svaṃ ratham āruroha ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: Da ließ der hochgesinnte Sohn Virāṭas die Zügel fahren und sprang vom Wagen herab. Er nahm die Gewänder jener großen Wagenkämpfer an sich und stieg eilends wieder auf seinen eigenen Wagen — eine ungestüme Tat, die sowohl die Dringlichkeit des Augenblicks als auch einen Mangel an Umsicht unter dem Druck der Schlacht erkennen lässt.
