The verse highlights how righteous strength and preparedness can appear naturally radiant and auspicious—Arjuna’s weapon is portrayed with cosmic imagery (lightning, fire, rainbow), suggesting that disciplined valor aligned with dharma carries a visible splendor and confidence.
The narrator describes the striking appearance of Arjuna’s bow, Gāṇḍīva, in his hand. Using similes of lightning in clouds and fire on a mountain, it is depicted as arched like Indra’s rainbow—emphasizing Arjuna’s readiness and the dramatic moment before action.
