Educational Q&A

Even amid violent conflict, the epic highlights restraint and order: when visibility and conditions collapse (darkness and dust), disciplined warriors pause rather than strike blindly, implying a norm of controlled warfare rather than chaos.

As evening falls and the battlefield becomes obscured by darkness and dust, the combatants—already arranged in formations—temporarily stop fighting and stand at rest, marking a brief lull in the clash described in this chapter.
