The Trigarta–Matsya Engagement at Twilight
सहदेवाय राज्ञे च भीमाय नकुलाय च । तान् प्रहृष्टांस्तत: सूता राजभक्तिपुरस्कृता:
sahadevāya rājñe ca bhīmāya nakulāya ca | tān prahṛṣṭāṁs tataḥ sūtā rājabhaktipuraskṛtāḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: Darauf traten die Wagenlenker — die Treue zu ihrem König voranstellend — zu Sahadeva, dem König, sowie zu Bhīma und Nakula, und fanden sie in froher Erregung.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights rāja-bhakti—loyal service to rightful authority—as a stabilizing ethical force: attendants act with discipline and purpose when devotion and duty guide them.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that the charioteers, motivated by loyalty to their king, go to Sahadeva (addressed as king) and also to Bhīma and Nakula, who are described as being pleased or elated.
