Akṣa-hṛdaya-dāna and Phalāśruti of the Nalopākhyāna (अक्षहृदयदानम् / नलोपाख्यान-फलश्रुतिः)
प्रस्थाप्य पुष्करं राजा वित्तवन्तमनामयम् | प्रविवेश पुरं श्रीमानत्यर्थमुपशोभिताम्,पुष्करको धन--वित्तके साथ सकुशल घर भेजकर श्रीमान् राजा नलने अपने अत्यन्त शोभासम्पन्न नगरमें प्रवेश किया
prasthāpya puṣkaraṃ rājā vittavantaṃ anāmayam | praviveśa puraṃ śrīmān atyartham upaśobhitām ||
Nachdem er Puṣkara auf den Weg geschickt hatte — reichlich mit Vermögen versehen und gesund und unversehrt — trat der ruhmreiche König Nala in seine Stadt ein, die in außergewöhnlichem Glanz geschmückt war.
बृहदश्चव उवाच
The verse highlights a dharmic standard of conduct: even when sending away a rival or opponent, one should ensure their safety and basic well-being, reflecting restraint, responsibility, and the king’s commitment to social order.
King Nala sends Puṣkara away safely, equipped with wealth, and then enters his splendidly adorned city—signaling a return to stable rule after the preceding tension.
