दमयन्त्याः व्याकुलता — स्वयंवरसंनिपातः — देवदूतयाचनम्

Damayantī’s Distress, Proclamation of the Svayaṃvara, and the Gods’ Request

मन्ये तथा तद्‌ भवितेति सूत यथा क्षत्ता प्राह वच: पुरा माम्‌ | असंशयं भविता युद्धमेतद्‌ गते काले पाण्डवानां यथोक्तम्‌,सूत! विदुरने पहले जो बात कही थी, वह अवश्य ही उसी प्रकार होगी, ऐसा मेरा विश्वास है। वनवासका समय व्यतीत होनेपर पाण्डवोंके कथनानुसार यह घोर युद्ध होकर ही रहेगा, इसमें संशय नहीं

manye tathā tad bhavitīti sūta yathā kṣattā prāha vacaḥ purā mām | asaṃśayaṃ bhavitā yuddham etad gate kāle pāṇḍavānāṃ yathoktam, sūta |

Dhṛtarāṣṭra sprach: „O Sūta, ich glaube, es wird sich genau so erfüllen, wie es mir einst der Kämmerer Vidura sagte. Wenn die bestimmte Frist verstrichen ist, wird dieser furchtbare Krieg gewiss stattfinden, wie es die Pāṇḍavas erklärt haben—daran besteht kein Zweifel.“
