Śiva Grants the Pāśupata Astra (Pāśupata-Śastra Upadeśa) | शिवेन पाशुपतास्त्रदानम्
रथो मातलिसंयुक्त आगन्ता त्वत्कृते महीम् तत्र ते5हं प्रदास्यामि दिव्यान्यस्त्राणि कौरव,“मातलिके द्वारा जोता हुआ दिव्य रथ तुम्हें लेनेके लिये पृथ्वीपर आनेवाला है। कुरुनन्दन! वहीं (स्वर्गमें) मैं तुम्हें दिव्यास्त्र प्रदान करूँगा”
ratho mātalisaṃyukta āgantā tvatkṛte mahīm | tatra te 'haṃ pradāsyāmi divyāny astrāṇi kaurava ||
«Ein himmlischer Wagen, mit Mātali als Lenker, wird deinetwegen zur Erde herabkommen. Dort, o Spross der Kurus, werde ich dir die göttlichen Waffen verleihen.»
