Śiva Grants the Pāśupata Astra (Pāśupata-Śastra Upadeśa) | शिवेन पाशुपतास्त्रदानम्
दर्शनात् ते व्िदं दिव्यं प्रदिशामि नरर्षभ । अमनुष्यान् महाबाहो दुर्जयानपि जेष्यसि,“सव्यसाचिन्! महाबाहो! पुरातन देव! सनातनपुरुष! पूर्वकल्पोंमें मेरे साथ तुमने सदा तपके द्वारा परिश्रम उठाया है। नरश्रेष्ठ) आज तुम्हें देखकर यह दिव्यास्त्र प्रदान करता हूँ। महाबाहो! इसके द्वारा तुम दुर्जय मानवेतर प्राणियोंको भी जीत लोगे
darśanāt te vidam divyaṃ pradiśāmi nararṣabha | amanuṣyān mahābāho durjayān api jeṣyasi ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „Weil du vor meine Augen getreten bist, o Stier unter den Menschen, verleihe ich dir diese göttliche Waffe. Du Mächtigarmiger, mit ihr wirst du selbst jene nichtmenschlichen Wesen besiegen, die schwer zu bezwingen sind.“
