Arjuna’s journey to Indrakīla and encounter with Indra
गात्रसंस्पर्शसम्बद्धां नयम्बकेण सहानघ । पार्थस्य देवदेवेन शूणु सम्यक् समागमम्,अनघ! देवदेव महादेवजीके साथ अर्जुनके शरीरका जो स्पर्श हुआ था, उससे सम्बन्ध रखनेवाली यह कथा है। तुम उन दोनोंके मिलनका यह वृत्तान्त भलीभाँति सुनो
gātrasaṁsparśasambaddhāṁ nayambakeṇa sahānagha | pārthasya devadevena śṛṇu samyak samāgamam, anagha ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „O Makelloser, höre aufmerksam diesen Bericht—wie Pārtha (Arjuna) dem Mahādeva, dem Gott der Götter, begegnete. Diese Erzählung hängt mit der leiblichen Berührung zusammen, die zwischen Arjuna und dem Dreiäugigen Herrn geschah; vernimm genau die Begebenheit ihres Zusammentreffens.“
वैशम्पायन उवाच
