प्रवृणीष्वापरं सौम्य वरमिष्टं ददानि ते । न तृप्यामि नरश्रेष्ठ प्रयच्छन् वै वरांस्तथा,'सौम्य! इसके अतिरिक्त तुम एक और भी अभीष्ट वर माँग लो। वह मैं तुम्हें दूँगा। नरश्रेष्ठ! तुम्हें वर देते हुए मुझे तृप्ति नहीं हो रही है
pravṛṇīṣvāparaṃ saumya varam iṣṭaṃ dadāni te | na tṛpyāmi naraśreṣṭha prayacchan vai varāṃs tathā ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „O Sanftmütiger, wähle noch einen weiteren Wunschsegen; ich werde ihn dir gewähren. O Bester der Menschen, selbst während ich so Segnungen verleihe, empfinde ich keine Sättigung.“
