Shloka 4

इष्टो भक्तश्न मे कर्णो न चान्यद्‌ दैवतं दिवि | जानीत इति वै कृत्वा भगवानाह मद्धितम्‌,आपको यह मालूम है कि कर्ण मेरा प्रिय भक्त है और वह स्वर्गके दूसरे किसी भी देवताको (अपने इष्टरूपमें नहीं जानता है, यही समझकर आप मुझे मेरे हितका उपदेश कर रहे हैं

iṣṭo bhaktaś ca me karṇo na cānyad daivataṃ divi | jānīta iti vai kṛtvā bhagavān āha mad-dhitam |

„Du weißt, dass Karṇa mir lieb ist und mein ergebener Verehrer; keinen anderen Gott im Himmel erkennt er als seinen erwählten Herrn an. Dies wissend, sprach der Erhabene zu mir einen Rat, der zu meinem Wohl bestimmt war.“
