Shloka 12

विदितं तेन शीलं ते सर्वस्य जगतस्तथा । यथा त्वं भिक्षित: सद्भिर्ददास्थेव न याचसे,“तुम्हारी दानशीलताका उन्हें ज्ञान है तथा सम्पूर्ण जगत्‌को तुम्हारे इस नियमका पता है कि किसी सत्पुरुषके माँगनेपर तुम उसकी अभीष्ट वस्तु देते ही हो, उससे कुछ माँगते नहीं हो

viditaṃ tena śīlaṃ te sarvasya jagatas tathā | yathā tvaṃ bhikṣitaḥ sadbhir dadāstheva na yācase ||

Er kennt deine edle Gesinnung, und die ganze Welt kennt sie ebenso. Denn dies ist deine feste Regel: Wenn Würdige dich um etwas bitten, gibst du ihnen, was sie begehren — doch verlangst du nichts dafür zurück.
