Kuntī–Sūrya-saṃvāda: Autonomy, Reputation, and the Promise of Karṇa

ततो विभीषण: पार्थ राममिक्ष्वाकुनन्दनम्‌ । उवाच विज्वरं दृष्टवा कृताञ्जलिरिदं वच:,युधिष्ठिर! तदनन्तर विभीषणने इक्ष्वाकुकुलनन्दन श्रीरामचन्द्रजीको नीरोग एवं स्वस्थ देख हाथ जोड़कर इस प्रकार कहा--

tato vibhīṣaṇaḥ pārtha rāmam ikṣvāku-nandanam | uvāca vijvaraṃ dṛṣṭvā kṛtāñjalir idaṃ vacaḥ |

Da sprach Vibhīṣaṇa, als er Rāma —die Zierde des Ikṣvāku-Geschlechts— fieberfrei und völlig genesen sah, mit gefalteten Händen zu ihm. Hier berichtet Mārkaṇḍeya dem Yudhiṣṭhira von einem Augenblick ehrfürchtigen Rates: Wenn ein gerechter Herrscher vom Leiden befreit wird, ziemen sich Dankbarkeit, Demut und Worte, die von Hingabe und Dharma geleitet sind.
