Gandharva Encounter
तमुद्यतगिरिं राजन् व्यद्रवन्त दिवौकस: । राजन! बादलोंसे घिरे हुए सूर्यकी भाँति पर्वत उठाये हुए उस दानवको देखकर सब देवता भाग चले
tam udyatagiriṁ rājan vyadravanta divaukasaḥ |
Mārkaṇḍeya sprach: „O König, als die Götter jenen Dämon heranstürmen sahen, den Berg hoch erhoben — wie die Sonne, von Wolken verhüllt — flohen sie vor Furcht.“
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse highlights how overwhelming adharma-driven power can induce fear even in the mighty; it implicitly points to the need for steadfastness and the restoration of cosmic order when intimidation disrupts dharma.
Mārkaṇḍeya narrates that the gods, seeing a demon approaching while holding a mountain aloft—compared to the cloud-covered sun—panic and flee.
