चित्रसेनगन्धर्वैः कौरवसंनिपातः

करोमि किं च ते शक्र शासन तद् ब्रवीहि मे । स्कन्द बोले--देवेन्द्र! आप ही देवराजके पदपर प्रतिष्ठित रहें। आपका कल्याण हो। आप ही तीनों लोकोंके तथा मेरे भी स्वामी हैं। आपकी किस आज्ञाका पालन करूँ---? यह मुझे बतानेकी कृपा करें
karomi kiṁ ca te śakra śāsana tad bravīhi me | skanda uvāca—devendra! āp hī devarāja-ke pada-par pratiṣṭhita raheṁ. āp-kā kalyāṇa ho. āp hī trilo-ka ke tathā mere bhī svāmī haiṁ. āp-kī kis ājñā kā pālana karūṁ—yah mujhe batāne kī kṛpā kareṁ ||
Skanda sprach: „O Śakra (Indra), sage mir, welchen deiner Befehle ich ausführen soll. Mögest du fest in der Herrschaft über die Götter eingesetzt bleiben; möge Wohlergehen dich begleiten. Du bist der Herr der drei Welten—und auch mein Herr. So weise mich an: welchem deiner Gebote soll ich gehorchen?“
