अग्निनाम-वंश-निरूपणम् | Agni-Names and Lineage Enumeration
आलक्ष्याश्नैव पुरुषा: कुले जाता महागुणा: | महाघोराणि कर्माणि कृत्वा लज्जन्ति वै द्विज,“ब्रह्मन्! उत्तम कुलमें उत्पन्न, परम सदगुणसम्पन्न और श्रेष्ठ माने जानेवाले पुरुष भी अत्यन्त भयानक कर्म करके लज्जाका अनुभव करते ही हैं
ālakṣyāś caiva puruṣāḥ kule jātā mahāguṇāḥ | mahāghorāṇi karmāṇi kṛtvā lajjanti vai dvija |
Mārkaṇḍeya sprach: „O Brahmane, selbst Männer, die in edlen Geschlechtern geboren sind—von großen Tugenden und als hervorragend geachtet—empfinden, nachdem sie überaus schreckliche Taten begangen haben, wahrlich Scham.“
