पूर्व हि विहित॑ कर्म देहिनं न विमुज्चति । धात्रा विधिरयं दृष्टो बहुधा कर्मनिर्णये,“पहलेका किया हुआ कर्म देहधारी मनुष्यको नहीं छोड़ता है। बहुधा कर्मका निर्णय करते समय विधाताने इसी विधिको अपने सामने रखा है

Transliteration

pūrvaṃ hi vihitaṃ karma dehinaṃ na vimucyati | dhātrā vidhir ayaṃ dṛṣṭo bahudhā karma-nirṇaye ||

Translation

Mārkaṇḍeya sprach: „Eine früher vollbrachte Tat lässt ein verkörpertes Wesen nicht los. Wenn der Schöpfer Handlungen und ihre Folgen auf vielerlei Weise beurteilt, hält er gerade dieses Prinzip vor Augen.“
