पञ्चमहाभूतगुण-इन्द्रियनिग्रह-उपदेशः | Teaching on the Qualities of the Five Elements and Sense-Control
त्रयाणामपि लोकानां महत् कार्य करिष्यसि । श्रीभगवान् बोले--ब्रह्मन! मेरी कृपासे यह सब कुछ तुम्हें प्राप्त हो जायगा। इसके सिवा तुम्हारे हृदयमें उस योगविद्याका प्रकाश होगा जिससे युक्त होकर तुम देवताओं तथा तीनों लोकोंका महान् कार्य सिद्ध कर सकोगे
trayāṇām api lokānāṁ mahat kārya kariṣyasi |
Mārkaṇḍeya sprach: „Du wirst ein großes Werk für alle drei Welten vollbringen.“ Der Herr erwiderte: „O Brahmane! Durch meine Gnade wird dir dies alles zuteil. Und mehr noch: In deinem Herzen wird das Licht der Yoga-Lehre aufstrahlen; damit ausgerüstet wirst du ein großes Werk für die Götter und für die drei Welten vollenden können.“
